Virtual Memorial Day Lesson Plan

Due to school closures we are not able to physically hold our educational program but, as Memorial Day approaches, MFH wants to offer a lesson plan about the true meaning of the holiday. The following daily activities serve to inform and engage our youth with relatable content. We encourage you to post with our daily #hashtags on your social media and we will be sharing your creations.

Flags for the Fallen

85 Northern Avenue, Boston
11:00 AM

Volunteers help kick off Patriot Week by building a sea of flags in honor of each of our Fallen Heroes. Those flags will remain standing until Memorial Day to commemorate Patriot Week.

Patriot Panel

Seaport Boston Hotel
9:00 AM

High-ranking military officers and government officials, defense contractors, and industry-related professionals will be invited to participate in an exclusive forum to discuss current world issues.

InnoVets Business Expo

Seaport Boston Hotel
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Registered attendees will get to know the many local Veteran and Gold Star Family companies. Each business will have a booth to showcase their practice, speak about their products, and help cultivate future development and growth within the Boston Innovation Community. Each business will pitch their company in a rapid-fire, two-minute presentation where they will have the chance to address the public and give a compelling pitch for how we can help them continue to grow and thrive. Registered attendees will receive a handful of InnoVets bucks with which they can vote for their favorites. The most voted-for businesses will leave with some well-earned seed funding for their business.

11th Annual Memorial Dinner

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center
5:00 – 7:00 PM

This 10th annual event will be held in the same venue as the inaugural Memorial Dinner in 2010. The evening will bring together Gold Star Families, Veterans, corporate and civic leaders, and distinguished guests to raise awareness of the programs and services provided by Massachusetts Fallen Heroes.

The Memorial Dinner is black-tie optional.

The 5th Annual Rededication of the MFH Memorial will host Gold Star Family members, elected officials, distinguished guests, and the general public in Boston’s Seaport District. Updated glass panels with the names of the most recent Fallen Heroes will be unveiled by Gold Star Family members.

“We are here because we are supposed to be here. Because we owe it to them; we swore we would never forget. We have a creed that says we will leave no man behind. If we did not take the time to HONOR them, we would be leaving them behind. If we did not work to SUPPORT the Gold Star Families, we would be leaving them behind. If we did not work hard to EMPOWER the Veterans that served alongside them, we would be leaving them behind.”
