Veteran’s Edge
HONOR. SUPPORT. EMPOWER.
We provide employment support on the full spectrum of employment, from the at-risk impoverished Veteran to the high level executive. It is our goal that all Veterans, transitioning military personnel, and spouses utilize us as a resource due to our collaborative partnerships and our focused training of the candidate and employer.
Veteran’s Edge has an in-house counsel to cover a wide variety of legal assistance, to include, but not limited to, discharge upgrades, VA appeals, employment discrimination, Guard/Reserve employer issues, housing issues, criminal issues resulting from service connected disability or substance abuse, etc. These legal services are free for the Veteran.
We understand that short and long term medical issues are an inevitable effect of war. Although no direct healthcare services will be provided by Veteran’s Edge, we ensure that no Veteran is a casualty of our bureaucratic systems regarding healthcare, Post Traumatic Stress therapy, substance abuse treatment, and VA claims. Our direct referral system with our private and public partners (both individuals and organizations) leaves no Veteran in need behind as we personally care for them through every step of the process. We want to ensure money or administrative obstacles are not the reasons preventing a Veteran from getting treatment.
Veteran homelessness is a complex issue that is often compounded with substance abuse and Post Traumatic Stress. Similar to our Healthcare Services, we have a direct referral program with leading housing specialists in Massachusetts. Additionally, in collaboration with local Unions, we have established a program to renovate unemployed and disenfranchised Veterans’ homes in significant need of repair.
We pride ourselves on being able to provide expert assistance in cases involving the Civil Service hiring process. We work as an advocate throughout the entire process and utilize USSERA and the EEOC to ensure that Civil Service follows the letter of the law and does not discriminate against Veterans due to their military services or any injuries received while serving.
Veteran’s Edge continues to be a powerful advocate on Beacon Hill for Veterans Legislative Bills that affect our Veterans’ needs. Our access to State Senators and State Representatives on these matters will only continue to push Massachusetts as the leading state in services and benefits offered.
The InnoVets program is Boston’s first veteran-focused business incubator, designed to connect, inspire, and support military veterans as they establish and grow businesses. InnoVets, in collaboration with corporations, investors, and associations will provide dedicated resources and opportunities to veteran entrepreneurs in Massachusetts.
