Moving Memorial

About the MIAFHM Touch Screen Video Tribute:

Prior to jumpstarting work on a permanent public Memorial, the Massachusetts Iraq & Afghanistan Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund joined the Boston Firefighters Military Veterans Legion to provide the financial support needed for an interactive video tribute or “moving memorial" planned to honor Bay State servicemen and women who died as a result of their service in Iraq and Afghanistan. The computer-based memorial is being programmed to display photos and information about each Bay State service member who has fallen since 9/11. Announced at a State House ceremony in 2009, the interactive touch screen video tribute was nearly abandoned due to a lack of private funds needed to complete the project. In the summer of 2010, Boston Firefighters and local veterans stepped in to raise the funds needed to complete the Interactive Traveling Memorial.

While additional photos and information must be uploaded to make the background information on our Fallen more comprehensive, the goal is to arrange for the touch screen video to tour the Bay State, with scheduled display stops at various city’s and towns across Massachusetts as well as the State House. The hope is that this traveling tribute will give members of the public in communities across the Commonwealth an opportunity to learn more about the extraordinary service rendered by Massachusetts men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The display of the Mass Fallen Heroes Interactive Tribute was hand crafted and built with pride by the American Infidels Motorcycle Club, a Veterans group established on 9/11/2001; Martin Interiors Architectural Millwork and Cabinetmaking, McGhee Remodeling, and NewEnglandWarrior.org

We welcome additional information from Gold Star Families who wish to offer photos that might be displayed on the video tribute.
